Members of Chambers advise and represent fire authorities, businesses, and individuals at all stages of enforcement investigations. Members act in appeals against enforcement notices, prosecutions, and at inquests and inquiries involving fire. We have particular expertise in relation to fire safety in complex buildings and scenarios including hotels, care homes, blocks of flats, and converted or refurbished properties.
Members have been involved in a number of fire safety appeals to the Court of Appeal, including R v Butt [2018] EWCA Crim 1617, the leading case on sentencing fire safety offences.
