Gough Square Chambers advises on disputes and regulatory issues arising in the pensions sector, particularly where pension products intersect with consumer finance, financial services regulation, and allegations of mis-selling. Members of Chambers are instructed by pension administrators and financial institutions in matters concerning the sale and administration of pension products.
Members have experience of disputes involving self-invested personal pensions (SIPPs), pension investment arrangements, and allegations of pension mis-selling, including claims involving breaches of the FCA’s Conduct of Business Sourcebook (COBS). Chambers’ work includes litigation concerning the jurisdiction and decisions of the Financial Ombudsman Service, as well as disputes concerning the regulatory responsibilities of pension administrators and intermediaries. Members also advise on the regulatory obligations affecting firms involved in the promotion, distribution, and administration of pension-related financial products.
