On 23rd November 2017, Gough Square Chambers hosted an autumn seminar at Westminster University to provide delegates with an update on consumer law. Fred Philpott chaired the event and there were five presentations. Simon Popplewell gave a caselaw update on unfair terms and CPUT; Kevin de Haan QC considered whether gamblers are adequately protected from unfair trading practices; Jason Freeman from the Competition and Markets Authority gave the regulator’s view;  Daniel Brayley discussed the Pricing Practices Guide one year after its publication and Ruth Bala provided an insight into CCA s75 litigation trends.
