Gough Square Chambers is proud to present SAFE 2024, the second of our annual safety law conferences, to be held again at Arundel House, 6 Temple Place on the afternoon of Thursday 3 October.
Overview
The conference will follow our established format of a series of informed, focussed contributions from experienced members of Chambers with panel discussions and distinguished external speakers.
The headline themes are: product safety and regulatory compliance, health & safety in a changing world, and safety enforcement in practice (including what small safety regulators and large safety regulators can learn from one another).
We are delighted to have two very distinguished external speakers.
Ian Prosser retired last month after a distinguished 16-year tenure as His Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Railways. Ian will be discussing the challenges and successes of his time in office and casting an eye to the future.
David Edwards is Professor of Plant and Equipment Management at Birmingham City University, in the Faculty of Computing, Engineering and the Built Environment. David will be speaking on the challenges of enhancing safety using AI in camera systems.
What to expect:
The conference will begin with registration at 11:30am and then run from 12:00 noon until 17:30pm followed by food, drinks, and networking. Those who choose to remain with us for the evening will be invited to drink a toast or two to the 38th anniversary of the founding of Gough Square Chambers.
The conference is free but please reserve a seat by emailing us at events@goughsq.co.uk as places are limited.
