On 14 February 2025 at Swansea Crown Court Mr Recorder Jowett imposed a sentence of £3.75m for ‘serious and systemic’ failures in relation to trackworker safety which lead to the deaths of two men at Margam near Port Talbot in July 2019. David Travers KC and Laura Phillips represented the Office of Rail and Road, which brought the prosecution.
