Iain MacDonald and Ann-Marie O’Neil will give an overview of the HMT proposals in Phase 1 of their consultation on reform of the Consumer Credit Act, with some thoughts about the merits of the proposals and a short look ahead to Phase 2.

 

Iain MacDonald

Iain’s practice covers the whole range of consumer and regulatory law, both civil and criminal.  His clients include major financial institutions, high street and online retailers and manufacturers.  He is a former Chair of the Bar Council’s Law Reform Committee.

Ann-Marie O’Neil

Ann-Marie is a specialist consumer law barrister and has experience across all of Chambers’ core practice areas, including consumer finance, regulatory crime and general consumer law. She undertakes drafting and advisory work and appears in both criminal and civil courts.
